Hotspur Green TRYOUTS scheduled for 7 pm at MYS Field have been CANCELLED today. 

Rising U15 Boys tryouts are still on as scheduled, but may be canceled if there is lightning.  Determination will be made on the field.

There is a chance of severe weather today.  Please remain alert.  If thunder or lightning is seen or heard, please vacate the field IMMEDIATELY and seek safe shelter.  If severe weather soaks the fields, and then the skies clear enough to have practice, please make sure you use caution to continue to protect the fields.  Do not practice on muddy or bare spots - nor in goal mouths.

This page is updated only as needed.  If the date listed above is not today's date, please read the "Field Status Update Information" at the bottom of the page for further information.

MYS gains use of the fields by permits granted from the Fairfax County Park Authority. MYS is responsible for monitoring and closing the fields. Regardless of whether a field is officially closed by the FCPA at 3 PM or MYS (via this website or the hotline), it is still YOUR responsbility to monitor field conditions and stay off if conditions warrant. Because this website and the hotline are usually not updated after 3 PM on weekdays and 7 am on weekends, you must help us follow the FCPA guidelines. The FCPA guidelines: fields are closed if you can see standing water on a field, hear a "squishing" sound when you walk, or water puddles around your shoe when you step.

This field status page and MYS Fields hotline (703-761-1601) are updated only when needed, and field closings only apply to the date indicated. If the date on the website is prior to today's date, you should assume that all fields are open, except for fields marked as closed for the season.

The field status page is updated by 3 pm on weekdays, and MYS may not update field status information after 3pm. On days when weather is uncertain -- for example, thunderstorms are predicted or it starts to rain at 4:45 and you have a 5:30 practice, please contact your team's coach or manager to determine if practice will be held.

On weekends, the field status page is updated as follows:

GAME FIELDS

On Saturday, by 7am; on Sunday, 3 hours prior to the first home travel game or 7am, whichever is later.

PRACTICE FIELDS

PRACTICE fields are updated at least one hour prior to the practice start time. Note that there may be continuous updates on weekends as field status and game schedules are updated -- please check back frequently.

Regardless of the information on the website or the hotline, fields must be closed if they are too wet. Please review the Fairfax County Park Authority Guidelines which are listed at the bottom of the field status webpage
