SELECTION CRITERIA

All players have will be evaluated for the specific squads based on the following skills:

  1. First touch 
  2. Decision making 
  3. Speed of play 
  4. Quality execution of passes 
  5. Head up when in possession of the ball 
  6. Effort 
  7. Attitude 
  8. Commitment 
  9. Desire

The MPS 95 Boys Titans has scheduled tryouts for our four U12 (rising U13) travel soccer teams for the fall 2008 season.  We are looking for enthusiastic soccer players born on or after August 1, 1995 (U-12 in Fall 2007), who share our passion for soccer and competing with top teams. Scholarship players are welcome.  New players are strongly encouraged, as our rosters will expand for the fall as we transition to 11v11 play.  Current Titans MPS 95 Boys players must try out to remain with the program.

 
Players should attend as many sessions as possible, as the more times the coaches see the players the better.  Arrive 15 minutes early. Bring drinking water and a ball with your name. Wear shin guards (NO EXCEPTIONS!), and a plain white shirt.

About the Titans
 
The Titans MPS 95 Boys travel soccer team is part of the elite McLean Premier Soccer program, a &ldquoclub within a club&rdquo of McLean Youth Soccer. MPS 95 Boys provides excellent year-round training, including competition in National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) or Old Dominion Soccer League (ODSL), indoor soccer or futsal leagues, competitive tournaments and high-quality training and optional summer/winter camps.
 
The Titans MPS 95 Boys is one of the lead teams in the new &ldquoone big team&rdquo model used by MYS.   The Titans are currently 55 boys who play on four squads. Two squads play in the NCSL (Green and White) and two squads play in the ODSL (Gold and Silver). No two players wear the same number to facilitate movement between squads between seasons, during practices and at tournaments.  A central professional staff handles all coaching.
